Season 3 was confirmed back in 2017 so we’ve been waiting a long time. All the original cast return in the new series which is great news. Fans had wondered if the show would move further on in time, worried about losing that retro 80s vibe, but there’s no need to worry, season 3 is set in 1985, less than a year after series 2. Forces of evil old and new Producer Shawn Levy stated earlier this year that this series would see the show dealing with forces of evil that are new, but the show’s creators the Duffer brothers have also mentioned that the usual Upside Down monsters are likely to still feature.
