Happy 92nd Birthday Your Royal Highness!

April 21st is Queen Elizabeth’s 92nd birthday. This is her actual birthday. Her official birthday is in June. Why does the Queen have two birthdays? No, it’s not because she wants two lots of presents and two cakes, it’s because of the British weather. The Queen has a parade for her birthday, and it’s more likely to be a washout if it’s held in April, so to increase the chances of a sunny parade, it is held on her official birthday date in June. The Queen isn’t alone having two birthdays, Paddington Bear also has two birthdays, so she is in good company. Personally I think it’s a great idea and I think I’ll have an extra birthday this year too!

The Queen tends to celebrate her actual birthday privately, but if you’re in London on the 21st, you’ll hear the traditional gun salutes throughout the city to honour the occasion. A 41 gun salute in Hyde Park, a 21 gun salute in Windsor Great Park and a 62 gun salute at the Tower of London.

Private Plates fit for a Queen

I image it’s pretty tricky choosing a birthday present for the Queen! A box of chocolates or a gift set of toiletries somehow doesn’t seem quite enough. We think a private plate would be a great gift for her, or for anyone who loves the royals. She would probably rather suit one of our HRH plates. She could have 3 HRH. If you would love an HRH plate but don’t have a spare £62k to buy this one, then no problem, we have loads of super HRH plates starting at just £199. You could pick up BR07 HRH for example.

We’ve also got a fabulous royalty plate available… ROY 417Y
