F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – A Thrilling End to the 2017 Season

The 2017 Grand Prix season is nearly at an end, but not just yet, first we’ve got the Abu Dhabi race at the YAS Marina Circuit to look forward to and it’s always a spectacular occasion. The 305.355km course has a circuit length of 5.554km so the race is a total of 55 thrilling laps. The lap record for this course is held by Sebastian Vettel who set a record of 1:40.279 back in 2009, the first year the course featured in the F1 Grand Prix.

If you’re keen to watch the race and all the practice sessions and qualifying, then get ready for a great weekend…

There are three practice sessions, two on Friday 24th November and one on Saturday 25th. The Friday sessions are 13:00 – 14:30 and 17:00 – 18:30. The Saturday session is from 14:00 to 15:00. Qualifying is also on Saturday from 17:00 to 18:00 and then the race is on Sunday from 17:00 to 19:00.

It’s set to be highly exciting. World champion Lewis Hamilton has won nine times so far in the 2017 season and he says he’s going to give it everything he’s got in Abu Dhabi to make it ten wins. Hamilton has already won the championship, but he’s certainly not going to be sitting back and taking it easy.

Back in 2015 he found himself in a similar situation. He’d already secured his position as world champion, but then felt disappointed when he lost all of the final three races. This year, he wants to finish on a high note. He’s won two out of the last three races, and he’s going all out to win the final race at Abu Dhabi too.

While the world champion has already been determined, the constructor’s championship is still up for the taking, with Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull all hoping it will be their victory.
