How to transfer your new personalised registration

HowTransfer_01

It’s January again and its back to reality with a bang. Following the Christmas holiday period many people who have received personalised registrations for Christmas now wish to transfer them to their vehicle. As the holiday rush is now over transfer times should be going through at the normal speed now of roughly 10-15 working days. There are many ways to transfer a registration, depending on what type of registration you have purchased. If the registration comes on certificate for example you can simply send off your vehicle registration document (V5C) and MOT certificate if required along with the V750)/V778 Certificate directly to DVLA Swansea and they will assign it to your vehicle. You will receive new documents back from them within 2-3 weeks.

Are you based in Northern Ireland and your registration is a  DVLA personalised registration?  Did you know that you can now transfer a DVLA registration from certificate directly to your vehicle without having to use a GB donor vehicle first.  If you are not familiar with dealing with DVLA we can still do the transfer for you at no extra cost. Just send your vehicle documents back to us in the stamped addressed envelope we provided with your original order and we will be happy to process the application for you. The process isn’t complicated when you understand how it’s done and the sales team at Speedy Reg will talk you through the process so you understand how it works.

If you are based in GB you may not realise that all the local DVLA offices have now closed therefore you will no longer be able to have your registration assigned over the counter. All DVLA retention documents must now be assigned directly with the DVLA in Swansea. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this yourself then why not ask your registration dealer to do this for you. Speedy Reg will offer this service free of charge to all their customers, whereas many other registration dealers will charge you an admin fee for this service.

If the registration you have purchased is on a vehicle we can put the registration on retention if you do not wish to transfer immediately. In this case the transfer fee will be £105 . If you can provide vehicle documents now just return them to us in the stamped addressed envelope provided along with the V317 form we sent out with your initial purchase.

Although we will always give you a detailed letter with your registration purchase if there is anything you are unsure of don’t be afraid to give us a call. Our dedicated and helpful sales team are always on hand to answer any of your questions no matter how silly you think the question may be. We will always work with our customers to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer. As you can see from our reviews on ‘Trust Pilot’ we have a high standard of customer service and being in business for 30 years we know the business inside out.
