So the August bank holiday is finally here, but how are you going to spend your long weekend? There’s no doubt there are a whole host of jobs that need doing around the house. Or you could spend your time mowing the lawn. But that seems like a waste of a special weekend doesn’t it? So why not head to Silverstone instead for the 2019 GoPro British Grand Prix MotoGP? Say no to dull bank holidays and have an unforgettable weekend instead. There’s so much going on, you can take the whole family or get a bunch of friends together and have a fantastic time. Go on your bike and you even get free bike parking, and there are facilities for storing leathers and helmets.

What’s going on

The main event runs from 23rd to 25th August but there’s something extra special happening on Thursday 22nd that you won’t want to miss. It’s the Day of Champions with the chance to meet some of the biggest stars of motorbike racing, listen to live music and watch some fantastic stunt shows. If you can’t get there for the Thursday then don’t worry, there’s going to be shows and music throughout the weekend too. The Entertainment Zone opens with the gates at 8:00am and the main stage entertainment kicks off at 9:40am and runs through into the evening. There’ll be something to watch on the stage between all the races, practice and qualifying rounds so you’ll certainly never have a chance to be bored! The riders themselves will also be taking to the stage so that’s going to be interesting to watch.

The Entertainment

Entertainment on offer includes live performances from Clean Bandit, Toploader, Duke and Legacy.  There’s the chance for the kids to try their hand at karting or riding on an electric motorbike. There’s a zorbing arena that will be a lot of fun or you could try your hand at football darts. Always wanted to ride in the Isle of Man TT? Well now you can with the TT Simulator! There are also some great shows and displays including the UK’s top BMX stunt group Extreme Bike Battle, and the Army will be there displaying tanks and other military vehicles.
