When large corporations make radio shows, films or TV programmes, they have to appeal to the masses, but a podcaster can create a fascinating insight into a niche topic and that’s just great. It really can bring together people who have an interest in something that’s just not main stream. So if you’re into collecting playing cards, you’re fascinated by the life-cycle of moths or you’re a fan of an obscure sci-fi series from the 1960s you’ll find kindred spirits out there in the podcast world. How to celebrate International Podcast Day There are plenty of ways to get involved, here are some suggestions… Share your favourite podcasts If you’ve found a podcast that you tune in to regularly, there are bound to be plenty of others out there who would love to hear about it, so share your favourite podcast on social media with the hashtag #InternationalPodcastDay or tell your friends, family or colleagues about it. Discover a new podcast Of course finding a new podcast that interests you is great too, so why not search for the hashtag #InternationalPodcastDay and see what comes up? Add a few words into your search that relate to your hobbies and interests and you may just discover a new gem that you’ve never come across before. Give credit to the podcasters Perhaps you have a podcast that you really look forward to and eagerly await the next one being launched? Why not take the time to thank the podcaster for spending their time creating it? The more thanks they get, the more they realise people actually appreciate what they do and the more likely it is that your favourite podcast will keep going for many years to come!
