Those furry little faces just entice us to give them treats and cuddles and overlook their naughty little ways. They’re already pretty pampered, but it won’t hurt to spoil them even more on this special day that’s all about them! International Cat Day was started in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare who work hard to prevent cruelty to animals with projects in more than 40 countries. So why not join in this year on August 8th? How to join in There are plenty of ways in which you can take part in International Cat Day. The first of course would be to treat your cat. Perhaps some cat milk, some extra treats or a new toy? Take some time out to spend time with your kitty, have some fun, play some games or just chill out together. You could take some photos of your cat, or video them doing something cute, or something silly. Share these on social media with the hashtag #CatDay so other cat lovers can find them easily. But what if you don’t have a cat? Don’t feel sad, just because your life isn’t blessed with a cat at the moment, there’s still plenty you can do. You could make a donation to a cat charity, or even volunteer your time at a cat sanctuary, although if you do, you may well find you’re not cat-less any more, who could work at a cat sanctuary without coming home with at least one bundle of fluffy joy?
