If you need a shoulder to cry on, or you just want to get together for a gossip, you can always rely on your friends! Whether you’ve known your friends since school, or you’ve just found a great friend lately, International Day of Friendship is the day to do something nice for your friends! Many of us have friends that we don’t speak to very often, perhaps you used to see them regularly but they moved away, or you worked with them but now you have a different job. Now is a great time to rekindled that neglected friendship and let your friend know you really haven’t forgotten about them! So give your friend a call or text them, or surprise them with a little treat through the post. Extending the hand of friendship International Day of Friendship is about more than just being nice to your friends though. It’s all about helping others and extending a hand of friendship to those in need. You could take the time to check in with an elderly neighbour, you could stop to chat with someone on the streets, or perhaps you could volunteer at a soup kitchen. You never know you might make some wonderful new friends and you can’t have too many of those! Make an effort to speak to those around you who you might not normally chat with and they may really appreciate it.
