If you own a classic car, there’s nothing better than getting together with other classic car owners. While your other friends and family start to glaze over when you’re talking about your beloved car, other owners of classic vehicles will understand your obsession and be interested to talk about cars with you for hours on end.

Is it time to get involved?

Wherever you live, it’s likely you’ll find a Classic Car Club somewhere nearby. You may have an interest in all classic vehicles, or perhaps you’re looking for a club that specialises in one particular vehicle. Either way, there are plenty of clubs all over the UK so you’re bound to find one that suits your interests that isn’t too far away for you to get involved regularly.

Do you live in South Wales?

If you’re in South Wales, check out the Glamorgan Classic Car Club. The club meets on the first Tuesday of every month and their next meeting is on Tuesday November 5th at 7.30pm at the Tonyrefail Working Mens club. Don’t be nervous, they’re very friendly and new members are always more than welcome.

A little more about the club…

The club was founded back in 1999. From the original 7 members, it has expanded year on year and now has more than 100 members. The club members often exhibit their cars, so this is something else you could get involved in.  The club also organises several Fun Runs and an Annual Transportation Festival every year. Along with a number of other enjoyable days out. The club will be present at the NEC Classic Motor Show from the 8th to 10th November and the Ford Fanatics Fire  & Rescue Show at Llantrisant on 10th November, so if you’re going to either of these events you can  find a member of Glamorgan Classic Car Club and learn more about it, or you can find all the information you need to join the club on their website here.

Make the effort – you won’t regret it

If you’ve never joined a Classic Car Club before, it’s well worth making the effort to go to a meeting to see if it suits you. It’s really fantastic to meet like-minded people and you’ll soon discover you’ve got a whole new circle of friends. It’s also a great place to get advice on maintenance of your classic vehicles or to get recommendations for retailers for parts etc.
