Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17th 1972, Eminem celebrates his 46th birthday today! Globally he’s sold more than 220 million records making him one of the best selling artists of all time, and he has won many awards including 15 Grammys! The Marshall Mathers LP was the fastest selling solo album in history and he’s made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most successive US number 1 albums.

Did you know? Eminem  – the facts!

  • Eminem was once sued by his own mother. Why? Well it was the line in the song ‘My Name Is’… “My mother does more dope than I do” that she didn’t take too kindly to!
  • Eminem claims that he has only ever read one book all the way through and that was a book called ‘I Make My Own Rules’ by LL Cool J.
  • However he does regularly read the dictionary as he likes to learn new words to add to his lyrics.
  • Elton John helped him to overcome his prescription drug addiction.
  • His nickname as a baby was Mickey because he had big ears like Mickey Mouse.
  • Florida artist Enrique Ramos made a portrait of Eminem out of M&Ms.
