Resistance is Futile – Star Trek Discovery is Coming Back!

“We want another series – make it so!” we all shouted, and luckily they listened!

Yes, it’s now been confirmed, Series 2 of Star Trek Discovery is a done deal. However, you won’t have to wait that long for your next Star Trek fix as Series 1, Chapter 2 hits the screens in the US on January 7th on CBS with Netflix following close behind on January 8th.

If you haven’t yet seen Chapter 1, then get catching up quick, but here’s a brief outline of what you’ve been missing. Discovery is set about ten years prior to the original Star Trek series, and follows a disgraced officer – Michael Burnham as she joins the USS Discovery during the war between the Klingons and the Federation.

It’s been over ten years since there’s been any fresh Star Trek on our televisions. Remember Star Trek Enterprise with it’s er… unique theme tune? It would have been easy for Star Trek to disappear into a retro void of TV past, but thankfully it’s had a whole new lease of life with Discovery and it’s really grabbed the attention of audiences worldwide.

What I’m really enjoying about Discovery, is trying to work out how on earth they’ll get everything to line up with the Original Series. The storylines seem to be miles away at the moment, but I’m sure there’s a plan in place to make everything tie in nicely when we get there! There have been plenty of twists and turns so far, so there’s bound to be even more coming up.
