Did you go on any day trips this summer? It’s fun isn’t it! A trip to the seaside, or a picnic at a local beauty spot. Perhaps you visited a local attraction? That’s all over now though isn’t it, now the weather has taken a turn for the worse?

Don’t be wimps! Just because it’s turned chilly doesn’t mean you have to miss out on that great family time getting out and about in the car with the kids! It’s the perfect time to tear yourself away from the sofa and have some outdoor fun.

The countryside is just gorgeous this time of year, wrap up warm and head on out for a bracing wintery walk admiring the autumnal colours. Many reservoirs are open to the public and they look stunning at this time of year, once you’re walking briskly, you won’t feel cold, and you’ll feel great for getting some exercise. You could even have a picnic, pack a flask of hot soup, the perfect winter warmer. Check out your local water company website for more details.

Theme parks are also good to visit at this time of year, at the end of the season. Most people don’t bother going when the weather is cold, so the queues are much shorter. You can ride the roller coasters all day! There’s nothing like screaming in terror to warm you up!
