Abu Dhabi plate sells for a record 7 million

“I bought it because I want to be the best in the world.” states Arab businessman Saeed Khouri on spending a record breaking seven million pounds on the number plate ‘1’. We have to agree, that is an awesome plate, but phew, that’s a lot of money to pay for it!

90 plates were auctioned off raising a total of £16.3 million, the proceeds of the auction are going to a good cause too, a rehabilitation centre for victims of traffic accidents.

Previously the most expensive plate sold was the single digit ‘5’ which went for £3.4 million to an Emirati stockbroker, so this new sale has more than doubled that record!

If you want to be Number One but don’t have a spare 7 million burning a hole in your pocket, we’ve got plenty of somewhat cheaper options for you… How about JJI 1 for £18,000 or 1 GO for £150,500? You can have 1 WET for £23,495 or MFZ 1 for just £4,800. If these or any other plates take your fancy, get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
