Have a free day out this Autumn

week43-post1

It’s great getting out and about for a day trip with the family, but it can work out very expensive. Save your money and check out some of the great places you can visit for free.

There are museums and galleries that offer free entry all over the country. From the awesome Science Museum in London, to the Royal Armouries in Leeds. There are bound to be some great places for a family day out within travelling distance of your home.

Whatever your interests, there’s bound to be something that appeals. How about the National Railway Museum in York, the National Coal Mining Museum in West Yorkshire, the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Centre or the Natural History Museum in London?

You could also wrap up warm and take a trip to a park or woodland to see the autumn colours. Many reservoirs are also open to the public for free, giving you a great opportunity for a good walk or a bike ride, and some stunning scenery to boot.

Look out too for free events in your area, from a fun run to a local fete, you can have a great time without spending a lot money. Take a picnic for your day out and you’ll save even more. Food and drink purchased at attractions can be pricey and can add up when you’re a large family.
