Chocolate Smart Car for 2 this Valentine’s Day?

Tadaaki Wakamutsu, a designer for Japanese luxury chocolate manufacturer Q-Pot designed this kitschy cute chocolate-themed Smart Car just in time for the Valentine’s Day holiday. Unfortunately, it’s not actually made of chocolate, it just looks like it is.

Car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday unveiled a chocolate-themed version of its Smart car in Tokyo, just a couple of weeks before St. Valentine’s Day.

It’s traditional in Japan for women to give men a gift of chocolate on Valentine’s Day. Japanese women are expected to buy Valentines presents for their husbands, male members of their families, their boy-friends, their bosses and their male colleagues.

Orders for the car can be placed from 2 February to 13 March, one day before the so-called ‘White Day’, when Japanese men repay the women who gave them gifts of chocolate with other presents.

What valentine’s gift will you be buying this year? A Car, or Maybe a personalised number plate instead?
