Asking your man to marry you today?

Will you be asking your man to marry you today?

Today is the day that traditional women can ask their men to marry them. Will you be one of the few to be joining in this tradition?

According to history supposedly, a 1288 law by Queen Margaret of Scotland required that fines be levied if a marriage proposal was refused by the man; compensation ranged from a kiss to £1 to a silk gown, in order to soften the blow. In some places the tradition was tightened to restricting female proposals to the modern leap day, February 29, or to the medieval (bissextile) leap day, February 24.

Different countries have different variation of this, for example in Denmark, the tradition is that women may propose on the 24th February, and that refusal must be compensated with 12 pairs of gloves.

However in Finland, the tradition is that if a man refuses a woman’s proposal on leap day, he should buy her the fabrics for a skirt. While in Greece, marriage in a leap year is considered unlucky.

What better way to remind you of your marriage proposal but with a personalised number plate such as FE61 EAP.

No excuse for forgetting your anniversary if you have a constant reminder‼
