Bradford Motorists Stopped During Police Action Day
Over fifty motorists have been stopped during a Police action day. Forty-eight drivers were given fixed penalty notices for a range of offences including not wearing seatbelts, having illegal numberplates and not conforming to MOT and four drivers were given points on their licence as well as a fine for using a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving.
Officers from the Tong and Wyke Neighbourhood Policing Team and Special Officers from Bradford South division targeted areas including Sticker Lane, Cleckheaton Road and Huddersfield Road.
PC Oliver Bentley who led the operation said: "Every time we do an operation like this targeting motorists, we manage to stop plenty of people who are breaking the law. All these people are given fines and/or points on their licences. The worst offenders can receive an automatic summons to court. We will keep conducting these operations until the message gets across to drivers in Bradford-breaking traffic laws is not acceptable and will not be tolerated."
