It seems we trust our dads more than garages, so we&#8217;ve asked some dads for their top motoring tips!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGet the right oil for your engine and you&#8217;ll get more years out of it. Most shops will have a list where you can look up the type of oil you need for your car. Different types of car and different age of vehicle makes a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGet in a routine with regular checks before you go on any long journey. Check water and oil levels and make sure you&#8217;ve got the number of your breakdown service with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNever buy a white car, it&#8217;ll always look dirty!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou&#8217;ll save loads of money if you buy a car that is a year old rather than a brand new one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlways keep your tank full in winter. Apparently water can condense on the inside of a tank that isn&#8217;t full and can cause problems with the fuel line.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot all screen wash is the same, some will freeze up when the temperatures plummet. Read the labels and you&#8217;ll see the temperature they&#8217;re effective down to.
