Unlucky for some perhaps, but if you buy a new car this year, you&#8217;ll have no choice but to take a 13 plate. Of course it&#8217;s not really much of an issue; if you are superstitious and really don&#8217;t want the number 13 on your number plate, then you can just buy yourself a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.speedyreg.co.uk\/personalised-number-plates\">personalised number plate<\/a> and replace it. You can get a plate from as little as \u00a350 and the process doesn&#8217;t take long, so you&#8217;ll soon be displaying these new plates on your car and you&#8217;ll be rid of the dreaded 13!<\/p>\n<p>However in Ireland, perhaps they&#8217;re a more superstitious nation, as the government listened to the concerns of potential car buyers in 2013 and realised that demand for change of the &#8216;unlucky&#8217; 13 plate was widespread. So much so that they actually did something about it. If you buy a new car in Ireland this year, your plate won&#8217;t have 13 on it, but instead the number will be 131. Would that make you happier?
