Yes, it\u2019s the day we thought would never arrive. Do you\nremember voting in the referendum back in 2016? Whether you voted leave or\nremain, many of us are now united in being pretty much fed up of the whole\nthing and just want it done and dusted! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the repercussions of Brexit, no one can\nreally say with any certainty how it will affect the country in the long term,\nand of course those of us who live here. Some say it will bring great benefits\nfor Britain, while others foretell a massive economic downturn. But however\nthings turn out, as has been the case over the last few years, when it comes to\nleaving the EU, nothing is ever done in a hurry! So there\u2019s really no need to\npanic as everything is set to stay the same for quite some time yet while new\nagreements are drawn up. EU laws will still be in place despite the fact that\nwe are no longer an EU member. The transition period is set at 11 months,\nhowever, it can be extended by up to 2 years, and if the previous Brexit\ntimescale is anything to go by, this is a distinct possibility. So there\u2019s no\nneed to panic that your holiday flights will be cancelled or to rush out and\nstockpile food ahead of a shortage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brexit and Number Plates<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news is that Brexit is not going to impact our\nnumber plate system and if your plate has the EU flag symbol on it, you can\nstill legally have this on your vehicle, so changing your plates won\u2019t be\nnecessary. However, after the transition period, if you take your car outside\nof the EU you will need a GB sticker displayed on your vehicle. In addition, to\ntravel outside of the EU for a holiday or short stay, a visa waver will be\nrequired, similar to the ESTA we purchase when travelling to the US, and this\nwill be available for a small fee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
