It\u2019s been a pretty good summer, we\u2019ve had some lovely\nweather and it\u2019s been a great time to get out and about showing off our\npersonalised number plates and having a fun time with the family, so what are you\ngoing to do now? Are you going to give in to the colder weather, and spend the\nnext few months in front of the TV, only venturing out in the car for those\njourneys you really have to do such as getting to work and dropping the kids\noff at school? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t let autumn get you down <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019re cooped up in the house all through autumn it can\nreally dampen your spirits. So don\u2019t give in to autumn, don\u2019t let the weather\ndictate what you do. There are still some great things to do over the next few\nmonths, so just wrap up warm and get out there! You\u2019ll have the added bonus of\nall the beautiful autumn leaves to admire on your journey, so get out in the\ncountryside and take your camera too. Family days out don\u2019t need to stop just\nbecause summer is at an end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit an arboretum <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is perhaps the best time of year to take a trip to an\narboretum. The summer crowds will have dissipated, so you can have a peaceful\nstroll amidst the red, orange and gold of the multitude of trees. You can even\ntake a picnic, just pack a flask of coffee to warm you up.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to a car show <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are still some fabulous car shows going over autumn\nand into the winter. Malvern Festival of Transport takes place on October 13th<\/sup>\nwith over 400 vehicles on display, an autojumble and plenty of hot food and\ndrinks available. The season finale of Truckfest, Europe\u2019s biggest trucking\nfestival is being held in Newark on the 5th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> of\nOctober and the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show will be at the\nBirmingham NEC from the 8th<\/sup> to the 10th<\/sup> of November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer attractions without the crowds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some big attractions close down over the winter\nmonths, many stay open over the autumn and you can take advantage of the lower\ncrowd levels as long as you don\u2019t mind being a little cooler. When you\u2019re busy\nhaving fun, you don\u2019t even notice it\u2019s a little cold anyway! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time to plan for next summer <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is also a great time to make some plans for next summer. Are you going to jet off overseas, or perhaps have a staycation and discover some parts of this wonderful country that you\u2019ve never visited before.
