2019 sees the 186th<\/sup> Oktoberfest running from\nSeptember 21st<\/sup> until October 4th<\/sup> in Munich. The festival\nis best known for the millions of litres of beer that are drunk throughout the\nfestival, but there is much more going on besides, not least of which is a huge\nfunfair. From traditional rides such as the swing carousel, to high adrenaline\nultra-modern rollercoasters, Oktoberfest is always steeped in tradition yet\nembraces the modern world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tour of the tents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beer, food and entertainment mainly happens within\n\u2018tents\u2019. But tent is an understatement, some of these buildings are massive and\nbear very little resemblance to any sort of tent you\u2019ll ever have gone camping\nin and are more akin to a luxury hotel. This year there will be 17 large and 21\nsmall tents with something different happening and a different vibe in each\none, but every tent has that special Oktoberfest feel to it, there\u2019s no doubt\nabout that! So you can stroll around the tents, sampling different beers,\nhaving a bite to eat and enjoying some great live music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have fun at the booths <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as all those tents to spend your time in, and the\nfunfair to enjoy with the family, there are also some fabulous booths to stroll\naround with some unique entertainment to take part in and lovely merchandise to\ntake home with you. In this area you can have your photograph taken in the\nphoto studio booth, test your strength at the strongman game, enjoy sweet\ntraditional gingerbread hearts and listen to the Original Munich Bird\nWhistlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
