There\u2019s always something new and exciting announced at the\nFrankfurt Motor Show and 2019 has been no exception. The main theme of the show\nthis year has been electric vehicles, with several new cars unveiled that are\nlikely to be available within the next 6-12 months. Electric cars are the\nfuture, so it\u2019s good to have an increased choice for those early adopters. Let\u2019s\ntake a look at the highlights from the show this year\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volkswagen ID.3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the biggest launches within the electric car category\nis the Volkswagen ID.3, a pure-electric vehicle which will be available with\nthree battery size options. The top model will have an impressive range of 242\nto 342 miles making this car highly practical for those who travel longer\ndistances. The launch model 1st<\/sup> Edition will feature a rear mounted\n201bhp motor and a 58kWh battery giving a range of 186 to 261 miles. Don\u2019t\nexpect to get one straight away though as all 30,000 1st<\/sup> Edition\nmodels have already been reserved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porsche Taycan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For anyone who thinks electric cars lack power, you need to\ncheck out the Porsche Taycan. Two turbo models are set to be released with the\nTurbo S pulling an impressive 750bhp. Going from 0 to 62 in just 2.8 seconds,\nthis car will give any petrol engine a run for its money and leave electric\ndoubters suitably surprised. A pre-production model set a new record at the\nNurburgring making it the fastest four-door all-electric sports car in the\nworld. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini Sian <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even Lamborghini is getting environmentally friendly with\nits stunning hybrid Lamborghini Sian. It\u2019s basically a re-tuned Acentador with\na new body and can produce 808bhp. With a top speed rumoured to be greater than\n217 mph, this is certainly a true Lamborghini, delivering everything we\u2019ve come\nto expect from the brand. The gold painted model displayed at the show\ncertainly turned heads! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Land Rover Defender <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re also going to see a new Land Rover Defender hit the\nshowrooms next year. This new model is 95% different from the last incarnation\nand offers better ground clearance and a longer wheelbase. All models are 4WD\nand air suspension will come as standard. Prices will start from \u00a340K.
