From Glasgow to Manchester, the Tour of Britain sees some of\nthe best cyclists in the world take to the roads of Britain for a gruelling 8\nday challenge covering 776 miles. This year the race focus is on Scotland and\nthe North of England, with a return to Manchester for the finale, the first\ntime The Tour has visited Manchester in 15 years. The mixture of city streets\nand grand English countryside will make a varied, tough, yet beautiful course\nwith some hard climbs along the way such as the 11% climb of the aptly named\nBeast Bank that will be encountered at the end of Stage Four from Gateshead to\nKendal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A great chance to see some world class cyclists<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will of course be plenty of opportunity to get out on\nthe roadsides of Britain and see the cyclist whiz by, or gather at the\nbeginning or end of a stage for a guaranteed amazing atmosphere. With the UCI\nWorld Championships taking place next week in Yorkshire, it\u2019s likely we\u2019ll see\nmore overseas cyclists in The Tour of Britain this year, getting in that extra\npractice before they head to Yorkshire for the World Championships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7th<\/sup> September – Stage One \u2013 Glasgow to\nKirkcudbright<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8th<\/sup> September – Stage Two \u2013 Kelso to Kelso\n(circular route)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9th<\/sup> September – Stage Three \u2013 Berwick-upon-Tweed\nto Newcastle-upon-Tyne<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10th<\/sup> September \u2013 Stage Four \u2013 Gateshead to Kendal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th<\/sup> September – Stage Five \u2013 Birkenhead to\nBirkenhead (circular route)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12th<\/sup> September – Stage Six \u2013 Pershore to Pershore\n(time trial)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13th<\/sup> September \u2013 Stage Seven \u2013 Warwick to Burton\nDassett Country Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14th<\/sup> September – Stage Eight \u2013 Altrincham to\nManchester<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watching the race<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s live coverage of every stage of The Tour on ITV4\nstarting at 10:15am for Stage 1 then 10:45am for Stages 2 to 8. Coverage\ncontinues through the day until around 3-4pm and highlights are also being\nshown later in the evening on ITV4 and Eurosport 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
