Notting Hill Carnival – Speedy Reg<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Since the mid 60s the August Bank Holiday has brought people\ntogether in the streets of Notting Hill for the iconic Notting Hill Carnival. These\ndays, more than a million people flock to the area to join in the fun. The\nfirst incarnation of the carnival was a Caribbean Carnival, set up as a\nresponse to the race relations issues of the era and the Caribbean influences\nare certainly still a mainstay of the carnival with amazing music, costumes and\nfood from the islands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get on down \u2013 it\u2019s so much fun! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carnival is free to attend, you don\u2019t need tickets you\njust need to turn up and join in and everyone is welcome. The event starts at\n6.00am on Sunday 25th<\/sup> August, so if you\u2019re an early riser, head on\ndown there. Sunday is the perfect day for families with the Children\u2019s Parade\nand floats to watch, This day also tends to be a little quieter than the Monday\nthat can get very crowded and perhaps a little too lively for the little ones.\nOver the weekend you can enjoy live music at Powis Square and Emslie Horniman\u2019s\nPleasance Park and there\u2019ll be lots of great food stalls too. The Grand Finale\nParade takes place on Monday 26th<\/sup> August, with dancing, uplifting\nsteel drum music, street performers and a truly heady carnival atmosphere. If\nyou\u2019ve never been to Notting Hill Carnival, it\u2019s an amazing experience, and if\nyou like to take photographs, you\u2019ll get some amazing shots over the weekend.\nIf that\u2019s not enough excitement for you, the party atmosphere continues with\nseveral after-party events going on in several areas of London including\nChelsea and Kensington. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
