They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and when it\ncomes to emojis, that\u2019s probably true! So much can be expressed in one teeny\ntiny image that would take far too long to explain in a message. It\u2019s also the\nperfect way to make sure that your tone is understood. It\u2019s hard to put across\nthat you\u2019re making a joke or being sarcastic, or that you really are rather\ncross when you\u2019re not talking to some directly but emojis give you all the\ntools you need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 700 million emojis are used in Facebook posts every\nsingle day, with the most popular emojis being the face with tears of joy and\nthe smiling face with heart eyes. Every day a massive 900 million Facebook\nMessenger messages are sent using only emojis and no text at all. Who needs\nwords when you have emojis? The day of the year that most emojis are used is\nNew Year\u2019s Eve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emojis from past to present <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started out with the humble emoticon  \ud83d\ude42 You may think they were first created with\nthe rise in popularity of the Internet in the 90s, but they were first used in\n1881 in Puck magazine ;P  The first known\nuse of emoticons online was in 1982. Carnegie Mellon University had an online\nmessage board and it was decided to use \ud83d\ude42 for joke posts and \ud83d\ude41 for serious\nposts, to make it easier for users to understand what type of post they were\nlooking at. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emojis as we know them today were invented in 1998 in Japan.\nThe word emoji was created from two Japanese words, \u2018e\u2019 meaning picture and\n\u2018moji\u2019 meaning character. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emoji personalised number plates <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emojis crop up everywhere these days. It would probably be impossible to spend a day without seeing one, unless you were camping in a wilderness without your mobile phone. In Queensland Australia, they\u2019ve gone one step further and you can now choose to add an emoji to your number plate<\/a>! Australian drivers get a choice of five emojis, smile, heart eyes, sunglasses, wink or laugh out loud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly we can\u2019t have an emoji on our number plates<\/a> in the UK but we do have a great plate for any emoji fans\u2026 J1 EMO<\/a> \u2013 if you\u2019d like this plate, give us a call! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
