It\u2019s the one we\u2019ve all been waiting for, the F1 round on\nhome turf, it\u2019s the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The season is well\nunderway with Lewis Hamilton looking good so far. Will he make it a sixth World\nChampionship win this year? If he does he\u2019s coming close to the record of seven\nwins achieved by Michael Schumacher. Of the last five races at Silverstone,\nHamilton has won four of them, it\u2019s obviously a track that works well for him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all his achievements, Lewis Hamilton really should treat himself to one of our personalised number plates<\/a> and we\u2019ve found one that is just perfect for him\u2026 LEW 15H. Or if he\u2019d like to show his love for the British Grand Prix then he could pick one of our many BGP plates such as C11 BGP, D1 BGP or E2 BGP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch for free on Channel 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, the British Grand Prix will be shown\nlive on Channel 4 from 2:10pm until 4:10pm. That means you can at least watch\none Grand Prix without a subscription to Sky Sports F1. Coverage will also be\ncontinuing as usual on Sky Sports F1 of course, with extra coverage of the\npractice rounds and qualifying, which you won\u2019t get to enjoy on Channel 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifying <\/strong>– Saturday, July 13 \u2013 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Race<\/strong> – Sunday, July 14 \u2013 2:10 pm to 4:10 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could this be the last Grand Prix at Silverstone?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the final year of the contract to hold the Grand\nPrix at the famous Silverstone circuit. Hopefully a deal will be made this week\nto renew the contract, but with escalating costs for holding the Grand Prix,\nit\u2019s still unclear quite what the deal will be. There have been rumours of a\nGrand Prix on the streets of London, which would be amazing, but a huge task to\norganise. It would be a great shame to lose Silverstone from the F1 calendar,\nespecially if a British alternative was not found. The first ever Grand Prix\nrace was held at Silverstone and seven out of the ten teams are based within\nfifty miles of the circuit.  Silverstone\ntruly is the home of F1. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
