One of the most interesting and hair-raising rounds of the\nWorld Rally Championship, Rally Italia is coming up soon. It\u2019s the 8th<\/sup>\nround of the WRC and it\u2019s always a popular one with spectators, with some great\nviewpoints to watch the action, usually good weather, for the spectators at\nleast, and a wonderful atmosphere. After the race, the winning team\ntraditionally head off to Alghero\u2019s historic harbour to celebrate. This\nbeautiful setting plays host to the service park, and visitors can sample the\ndelicious local Italian gelato. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A challenging course <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race route is a tricky one to be sure. The roads are\nnarrow and lined with rocks, so it\u2019s certainly not forgiving of errors. With a\nmix of sand and rutted tracks, drivers need to be on their toes at all time.\nNot the easiest task when the temperatures can often soar to over 30C. Lovely\nfor those watching, not the best conditions for those behind the wheel! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Few changes for 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s itinerary has been put together by Tiziano\nSiviero, world title winner in 1988 and 1999. He has announced that the route\nis so good, it doesn\u2019t require much in the way of changes this year, so it will\nremain pretty much the same as last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The action in more detail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 13th<\/sup> June<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event begins with the show stage at the Ittiri Arena on\nThursday evening, two cars at a time will take on two laps of the arena, a\nformer motocross track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday 14th<\/sup> June<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday morning they take to the roads and tackle four\nstages over 124.20km. All four stages are then repeated in the afternoon. The\nstages are Tula, one of the most difficult stages of all, followed by\nCastelsardo, Tergu-Osilo and Monte Baranta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 15th<\/sup> June<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then things get even tougher on Saturday. There are three\nstages, a total of 142.42km, each run twice, Coiluna \u2013 Loelle, Monti di Ala and\nMonte Lerno. Spectators get a real treat at Monte Lerno, with Micky\u2019s Jump,\nwatching cars literally leave the road as they leap over the jump at high\nspeed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 16th<\/sup> June <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday then sees two stages run twice. The 14.06km Cala\nFlumini and the 6.89km Sassari \u2013 Argentiera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
