Dubbed \u2018The most dangerous motor sport event in the world\u2019\nand \u201838 miles of terror\u2019 there\u2019s no denying, the Isle of Man TT is a thrilling,\nedge-of-your-seat event with racers exceeding 200mph. Held on public roads,\nrather than a race track, this brings even more hazards. You don\u2019t get manhole\ncovers, street lights and bus stops to avoid at high speed when you\u2019re on a\nrace track! In 1958 one racer even hit a cow during practice! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The races run from June 1st<\/sup> to June 7th<\/sup>\nand you can watch highlights of the action on ITV4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why the Isle of Man?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race was initially intended to be held in England, but\nthe Motor Car Act of 1903 put paid to that, with a 20mph speed limit being\nintroduced, so the race moved to the Isle of Man to avoid the speed limit\nrestrictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
