You\u2019ve got to love Spain, it\u2019s got so much going for it.\nGreat weather, conveniently situated so we can all have a sunny holiday without\ntravelling for too long, fantastic wine, great food, and the Spanish Grand Prix!\nThe Spanish Grand Prix itself is more than 100 years old making it one of the\nworld\u2019s oldest motor races. It has been part of the Formula 1 calendar since\n1967 at several different locations. The current home of the Spanish Grand\nPrix, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been used since 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A home from home for most F1 drivers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

F1 drivers tend to be very familiar with this circuit as\nit\u2019s often used for testing outside of the F1 season. That\u2019s probably why we\ntend to see some fantastic action, breath-taking manoeuvres and high speeds\nhere. This year marks the last year of the current race contract, but it\u2019s\npretty unlikely that this won\u2019t be renewed for 2020. No one wants to lose this\niconic F1 race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Schumacher\u2019s lucky circuit <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Schumacher has performed incredibly well on this\ncircuit, it really does seem to be lucky for him. He\u2019s won the Spanish Grand\nPrix six times, more than any other driver. His first win on the  course was particularly impressive as it was\ndriven largely in the rain. This was certainly thrilling viewing back in 1996.\nThis race hasn\u2019t been affected by rain since then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

F1 youngest winner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, Max Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix and this\nmade him the youngest winner in the entire history of Formula 1. He was 18\nyears and 228 days old. Previously the record had been held by Sebastian Vettel\nwho won the Italian Grand Prix in 2008 aged 21 years and 73 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The perfect holiday?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A trip the Spanish Grand Prix might be the perfect holiday and\nmany people do make the journey, and include the GP into their family holiday.\nSpend some time sitting around the pool in the sunshine, then enjoy the amazing\natmosphere, the awesome sounds and the edge-of-your-seat action at a Grand Prix\nrace. I think we should organise a Speedy Reg holiday for next year, it sounds\nlike a lot of fun! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
