The Xion Rally in Argentina, part of the World Rally\nChampionships, is certainly challenging, and definitely exciting to watch. The\ncourse is located around the lakeside resort of Villa Carlos Paz and includes a\nwide range of terrain, from the super special stage in downtown Villa Carlos\nPaz, to plains, lakeland and mountains. This particular event was first run in\n1980, however, just two years later it was cancelled, due to Britain being at\nwar with Argentina over the Falkland Islands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A truly awe-inspiring course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race begins on April 25th<\/sup> finishing on April\n28th<\/sup>. There are 18 stages with a total distance of 1.300,38 KM.\nPerhaps the most impressive stage is Copia \u2013 El Condor which is tackled on\nSunday. With hanging bridges and so many precarious twists and turns high up\namong the rocks on the mountain side, it\u2019s definitely thrilling and you\u2019ll find\nplenty of spectators camped up on the rocks near the finish of the El Condor\nstage. It\u2019s a real party atmosphere with barbecues cooking and beer flowing.\nAround one million people gather to watch the Xion Rally, so you can imagine\nit\u2019s pretty sensational to be there. People gather for several days before the\nrace to ensure they get the best spots to watch the action. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drivers making a big splash<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The excitement only gets greater if there\u2019s been recent rain\nas there are several river crossings, and so the more water there is, the\nbigger the spectacle when the cars race through them. Thrills and spills will\nundoubtedly abound! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
