It\u2019s International Women\u2019s Day and the theme this year is\nBalance for Better. It\u2019s all about helping to create a gender balanced world\nwhere women take an equal standing with the men in all aspects of life. Look\nout for the hashtag #BalanceforBetter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Women\u2019s Day is celebrated in many countries\nall over the world and it dates back to 1909. We\u2019ve come a long way since then\nwith regards to women\u2019s rights, but there\u2019s still a way to go and you can help.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get involved <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course the first thing you can do for International\nWomen\u2019s Day is to show you appreciation of the women in your life that help you\nin some way. It could be as simple as telling your mum, wife or sister that you\nappreciate them, or perhaps you\u2019ve got a great female boss who would be\nthrilled if you surprised her with a bunch of flowers for International Women\u2019s\nDay?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strike a pose <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s all about raising awareness, and this year you can join\nin with the #BalanceforBetter pose!  It\u2019s\nso simple, but sharing your pose photo on social media will help to spread the\nmessage of this year\u2019s campaign. Luckily it\u2019s a very easy pose, no advanced\nyoga techniques are required, simply stand with your palms raised upwards on\neither side of your body, to show balance, like a set of scales, get it? Then\npost it all over your social media with the #BalanceforBetter hashtag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attend an event <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many interesting and informative International\nWomen\u2019s Day events going on all over the country. Talks, Q&A sessions with\nprominent and successful women, poetry readings, hands-on workshops to teach\nwomen new skills, and much more.  You can\nfind events in your area by visiting the International Women\u2019s Day\nwebsite<\/a>. If you can\u2019t find anything close to you, then why not create your\nown? You\u2019ll find all the information to do this on the website too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
