Today we\u2019re wishing Taylor Swift a very happy 29th<\/sup> birthday. Taylor\u2019s love of music, particularly country music was clear from a very early age. At nine she took an interest in musical theatre and started taking vocal lessons. Soon theatre took a back seat, and being inspired by Shania Twain, she switched her focus to country music. Even at this young age she had talent, and regularly performed at festivals. Her dedication to her music career made her determined to go to Nashville, so with her mother, they set off to Tennessee with demo tapes to give to the Nashville record labels. Her covers of country tracks were not picked up by the labels, but she wasn\u2019t disheartened. She was determined to be different and stand out from the crowd, so she started writing her own songs and learnt how to play guitar. Still only 12 years old, this was when her career began to take off.<\/p>\n

At 14 she was signed by Sony\/ATV, the youngest person ever to be signed by the label. Her songs are from the heart and her albums have gained critical acclaim. She\u2019s won so many awards, she\u2019s the most awarded artist in the history of the American Music Awards. She has also received awards in recognition of her philanthropic efforts.<\/p>\n
